What is a level 2 background check?

If you conduct background checks, you might be familiar with the term “level 2 background check.” Though this can be a term used by a background screening company to refer to a specific package they offer, more often it refers to a specific type of investigation used on individuals from the state of Florida. There, a level 2 background check uses a fingerprint-based search of records before clearance for certain jobs is authorized. These can include ones that involve children or the elderly. Florida statutes prohibit those with certain offenses on their records, including kidnapping, murder, manslaughter, incest, or sexual misconduct from being considered for positions of this type.
