Paul Heaphy founded Preferred Adjustment Company in 1988 and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter with 40 years of experience as a licensed General Adjuster. Preferred Adjustment Company, powered by Alliance Worldwide Investigative group, joined the Alliance suite of services at the Clifton Park headquarters in 2016. Heaphy handles claims in the Capital Region area and is responsible for the technical administration of complex, high exposure property and casualty claims. Paul’s position involves determination of coverage, amount and value of loss, together with negotiation of settlements. In addition, detailed narrative reports are prepared for clients, including insurance carriers, self-insureds and attorneys. Prior to founding Preferred Adjustment Company, Paul worked for over ten years as a General Adjuster for Crawford Risk Management Services. While there he received accredited training courses in Advance Casualty, Risk Control Services, Advanced Property Claims, Basic Property Claims, Auto Physical Damage and Basic Casualty Claims. In addition, he completed the New York State Agents and Brokers Licensing Course.
Paul earned a Master of Science degree in Public Service Administration from Russell Sage College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Philosophy from Iona College and an Associates in Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Hudson Valley Community College. He is the Past President and Current Education Chairman of the Albany Claims Association and an Insurance Institute of America instructor. Other professional affiliations include the New York Association of Independent Adjusters and the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce.
